Can you believe it has already been 8 months?! I don't know where this year has gone. I was just thinking the other day about Halloween costumes- Halloween! I would love to make her costume, so if you have any good ideas, please send them my way!
Blueberries
I know I say this almost every post, but she is so active. She is constantly taking me by surprise by how quickly she is developing and picking up on things. She can say the "B", "D", and "M" sounds. She is so cute telling us a story in her little language. I have learned a few signs that I am trying to teach her: eat, more, and change. My hardest obstacle so far is having a free hand to sign with! I will be looking to join a baby sign language group or class to learn a little more (and to meet other parents).
She is now standing, crawling with her stomach off the floor, holding on with one hand and picking things up off the floor with the other, and unplugging everything she can reach. (Note: she can reach a lot more than I can!)
Getting ready for a walk!
We were at Babies R Us yesterday and ventured over to the Toys R Us side looking for a toy chest. Side note: Toys R Us is SCARY! Toys everywhere, crying children, and mayhem. I just wanted to return to the sweet side of the store with fluffy baby blankets and cute onsies. But to continue with my story, we found a really cute FAO Swartz wall hanging of a world map that is interactive with little velcro words and animals, etc. So, now we are trying to decide if we should get this map, the retro pull down school map, or do a mural. What do you think?
Evelyn now has FOUR teeth. "The better to eat you with, my dear!" I have only one bit mark that broke the skin so far. We are working on "No Bite!"
This was taken right before she got her 4th tooth- you can see the tooth on the upper right about to pop out!
Evelyn had her first trip to the beach yesterday! I could not pass up this super cute bathing suit on the discount rack. We even got her some special swimming diapers. She liked the water ok and the sand ok, but her favorite part was putting things in her mouth! Ha- no surprise there! I think we all had a great time!
Next weekend we will be going to Vancouver, British Columbia for Nate's 30th birthday! I can't wait. There are all sorts of kid friendly things to do and room service! I think we will have a great time. Have you ever taken a kid-o out of the country? Any recommendations?
I hope you are having a great summer! It is just starting to cool off here. Thank goodness! We only have one air conditioner, and it is in Evelyn's room. The house has been in the 80's by the end of the day! Yuck! I can't wait for pumpkin bread, the leaves to change colors, apple cider, and sweaters and scarves! Fall is my favorite time of the year!
